Our talented Year 10 and 11 students treated an audience of parents and friends to a superb set of performances, as part of their GCSE assessments!

The Showcase covered the full range of genres including music, dance and Drama. Katie, seen above right, wrote Year 10's production, entitled "The Blizzard of Oz" which was a wonderful comedy and featured some rather famous faces too! |

Our Director of Performing Arts, Mrs Heywood-Connor, said of the groups' success, "The teamwork and the supportive atmosphere between the students was fantastic!"

Year 11 took the theme of Careers for their performance which was also highly impressive. The practical work performed by the students forms 40% of their

final mark. Alongside this they are also expected to organise their costumes, make-up and set design for their pieces. Pictured above: a scene from Year 10's performance and left: relaxing when it's all over! |
Enrichment Day earlier this term gave Year 9 the opportunity to sample some exciting careers!

Exploring the media allowed students to operate a fully sized camera and conduct interviews with each other! Another popular activity involved students looking at the skills of model making and their importance in animation. |

Another fascinating career which really gripped our students was Dentistry.

Many like Joe - pictured left - had the opportunity to mix and work with the materials used by dentists to treat patients. The variety of careers made it both enjoyable and interesting! |
