Local authority schools do not carry insurance for pupils in the following situations:
- Personal property is not insured against loss, theft or damage on school premises.
- Children are not insured whilst engaged in any activity within the school.
Parents are advised to check details of their own home and personal insurance to ensure that their children are covered in these situations.
